 Mental Wellness Class at MLCCC

In promoting mental health, especially of the youth in our community, MLCCC proudly offered a series of Mental Wellness Classes designed to educate both youth and parents of the MLCCC community. May is Mental Health Month, and we are pleased to publish all five sessions in their entirety to a greater audience.

This series has also offered the following up discussion between the session with behavioral practices and exploration of strategies to promote mental and emotional wellbeing as an individual and community members.

The following are recorded sessions of our past classes; feel free to watch and share with your friends, families, and organizations. Click on the highlighted title to watch the live recorded videos of each session.

This program is supported in part by a CAREs Community Grant (2020) from Penn Medicine.

The professional instructor is Ms. Christine Gorigoitia, Psy.D., a licensed doctor in Clinical Psychology at West End Counseling (Allentown, PA USA), and a caring parent at MLCCC Weekend School.

Thank you Penn Medicine for your support!

Thanks, Dr. Christy for your devotion to the MLCCC Community!!

Here is the class handout (PDF) of the five-session topics, if you find it useful, please share it with your friends, children, and coworkers.

We have started a conversation to promote youth mental health. We hoped that we had increased awareness of the importance of healthy minds and emotions; We invite you to join the conversation on this critical topic, especially with the youth of Asian American families; together, we are saving lives.

Dr. Gorigoitia treats children, adolescents, and adults.  She uses evidence-based practices to help clients develop cognitive and behavioral skills and approach life in a more centered and responsible manner. She has special interests in treating:
  • Anxiety
  • Stress

  • Adjustment Disorders
  • Eating Disorders
In addition to her work as a clinical psychologist, Dr. Gorigoitia works as a consultant to support preventive initiatives in regional schools and non-profit agencies.  She is a member of the Lehigh County Mental Health/Intellectual Disabilities Advisory Board as well as an active member of the American Psychological Association.  When not working as a clinical
