Webinar /
Saturday, October 16
7:00-8:30 p.m. Eastern Time

Depression is becoming a killer second only to cancer. However, due to a lack of awareness about depression and other mental illnesses, many people deny that their family members (especially their children) suffer from depression, refusing to accept medication and professional treatment. Instead, they choose to ignore the issue or show “tough love," which ultimately leads to tragedy.

The new documentary “Stories That Save Lives," produced by award-winning documentary director Professor Chuangfu Chang, tells the real experience of how two families who have fallen into the abyss of depression emerged from its depths. The two protagonists in this article bravely share their stories with the public and use their painful lived experiences to tell everyone:

Depression is terrible,
But just as terrifying is the stigma and shame,
The neglect and lack of awareness.

Please join UCA WAVES and our partners for a panel discussion, during which a 12-minute clip of the film will be shown, followed by a discussion with the featured family members, the filmmaker, and a psychiatrist. See the flyer for more details.
