Bystander Intervention Training in Cantonese and Mandarin
9/24 Bystander Intervention Training in Cantonese and Mandarin
Hi All,
In collaboration with iHollaback!, AAJC will be offering the Bystander Intervention to Stop Anti-Asian/American and Xenophobic Harassment, training on Friday, September 24 at 3:00 PM EST.
The 1-hour interactive training on September 24 will be offered in Cantonese and Mandarin and will be facilitated live, by two trainers and a team of translators. During the session, we will deepen our understanding of the reality and history of Anti-Asian harassment, learn how to be active bystanders, and finally, practice the techniques we learn. The registration page for the training is here.
We need your help to spread the word about the training and make sure those who need this resource the most, have access to it. Please share the training with your communities and on social media, or feel free to share iHollaback’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter posts. I have also attached a flyer in traditional Chinese, to share with community members.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
With Gratitude
Joy

In response to the rise in Anti-Asian/American and xenophobic harassment, we at Hollaback! partnered with Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC to adapt our free bystander intervention training as well as offering a de-escalation training adapted to support the AAPI community. To meet this moment and offer trainings to communities nation wide, we are now also partnered with Asian American Advancing Justice| Asian Law Caucus, Asian Americans Advancing Justice Los Angeles, and Asian Americans Advancing Justice Chicago.
Unfortunately, anti-Asian and Asian American racism and xenophobia are not new phenomena. It has been part of American history for a long time, and we have seen it manifested against different Asian/American and Pacific Islander communities in many ways over the years. As the coronavirus pandemic escalates, we have seen more harassment, discrimination, and even violence directed at these communities. The Asian Americans Advancing Justice affiliation has been documenting hate crimes and hate incidents since 2017 at www.StandAgainstHatred.org, which is available in English, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese.
WE WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO ATTEND OUR FREE TRAININGS:
